Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition
The Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition (FPMT) transmits the Mahayana Buddhist tradition and values worldwide through Tibetan Buddhist teachings, meditation, community service, retreat centers, and projects that preserve the tradition. FPMT is based on the Gelugpa tradition of Lama Tsongkhapa of Tibet as taught by our founder, Lama Thubten Yeshe and spiritual director, Lama Zopa Rinpoche.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama
His Holiness the 14th the Dalai Lama Tenzin Gyatso, is the head of state and spiritual leader of the Tibetan people. He was born Lhamo Dhondrub on 6 July 1935, in a small village called Taktser in northeastern Tibet. Born to a peasant family, His Holiness was recognized at the age of two, in accordance with Tibetan tradition, as the reincarnation of his predecessor the 13th Dalai Lama, and thus an incarnation Avalokitesvara, the Buddha of Compassion.

‘Karuna’ is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘Compassion’.

Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archive
The Lama Yeshe Wisdom Archive (LYWA) is the collected works of Lama Thubten Yeshe and Kyabje Lama Thubten Zopa Rinpoche. The Archive was founded in 1996 by Lama Zopa Rinpoche, its spiritual director, to make available in various ways the teachings it contains. Publication of books of edited teachings for free distribution is one of the ways.

Lama Zopa Rinpoche
Lama Zopa Rinpoche was born in 1946 in Thami, in the Mount Everest region of Nepal, not far from the Lawudo cave where his predecessor had meditated for the last 20 years of his life. Lama Zopa Rinpoche is now the Spiritual Director of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition and oversees all of its activities.

Cancer Council Queensland
We were established in 1961 as the Queensland Cancer Fund, in response to an increasing need for cancer-related services across the state.
Today, Cancer Council Queensland employs over 250 staff statewide, and relies on support from more than 2,500 registered volunteers. Our volunteers, supporters, and friends are essential to our work.
We have offices is in Brisbane, Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Maroochydoore, Toowoomba, and the Gold Coast.
Cancer Council Queensland is a member of Cancer Council Australia and is affiliated with the International Union Against Cancer (UICC).
Thousands of Queenslanders donate and volunteer for us each day, helping us to improve cancer control.

Wildlife Volunteers Association Inc.
Australia's wildlife has experienced enormous habitat loss and destruction over the past 30 years making way for development to house our growing community. The Wildlife Volunteers Association Inc. (WILVOS) has provided rescue and rehabilitation to native fauna of the Sunshine Coast since 1995. Since its inception the organisation has operated and remained solvent due to the tireless efforts of its volunteer membership and committees.
WILVOS has approximately 250 members. 100 members are active carers who pick up injured or distressed wildlife and rehabilitate these animals back into their natural habitat. The remaining members are "Friends of WILVOS" do not actively care for wildlife but assist in many other ways. All members pay an annual subscription fee.
